Real Life Whittlebury Weddings Steven and Alice

  • Your first date:

How we met – first date …where and when - was it love at first sight?

We met online using Plenty Of Fish. Our first date was bowling and dinner in Milton Keynes. He was over an hour late!

  • The proposal (where and when)

On our first anniversary. We went for a walk through Salcey forest and he proposed on the bridge.

  • The dress was ……

From Belle En Blanc in Olney. I only tried 8 dresses on, when I tried my wedding dress on I knew it was the one. It had everything I wanted, I loved the lace and the sparkle.

  • The suits were

Grey tails with an ivory waist coat. The cravats and pocket squares were royal blue to match the bridesmaids dresses. They were rented from Allen’s of Olney.

  • Our budget was spent on ……

Magician, photographer, bridesmaids dresses, suit hire, flowers, Whittlebury,  hair and make up.

  • Planning is the key to a stress free wedding.

The idea/plan that really worked for us was ……

Lots of lists and a month by month planner to ensure we stayed on track.

We researched cost pre planning to help us budget the wedding effectively,

then using the planner and projected costs to manage the finances

  • The important things you were looking for in choosing your wedding venue

We like the amazing outside space Whittlebury had.

We liked Whittlebury’s pavilion and the fact it had two separate rooms for guests. I was also important for us to have somewhere for us and the guests to stay on site. The morning after the wedding we had breakfast with all of our guests in the Paddocks, it was lovely to see everyone the morning after the wedding.

Somewhere that had the wow factor

  • Wedding specialists we chose to complete the look and our ideas were ……

Whittlebury’s florists for the pedestal flowers and Whittlebury’s DJ.

Carolanne flowers in Bletchley for the bridal and Bridesmaids bouquets and button holes.

Steve Rowe as our magician.

Alec Packham as the photographer.

  • The best Part of the day was ……

Having all our friends and family at an amazing venue to celebrate our special day.

  • If we could give one tip to other couples it would be ……

Plan as much as possible ahead.

Book the venue and photographer first the rest can be booked at a later date.

  • Testimonial:

Whittlebury was the perfect venue for our wedding. The staff were always helpful during the day, special mention for Michael who was duty manager and ensured our wedding ran smoothly all day. The orangery was perfect for the ceremony and created a great atmosphere for the wedding. The Pavillion provided the perfect venue for the reception. Great space in and out doors.
