Real Life Whittlebury Weddings Hayley and James

  • Your first Date:

We met at a local pub on a ‘Karaoke Sunday’ in 2007.  Both of us were out enjoying a few drinks with friends and ended up singing a lovely rendition of “Don’t stop me now” by Queen after a few too many vinos….. for me!!

  • The Proposal (where and when)

17.12.16-  My dad organises a ‘Christmas fancy dress’ competition every year which is very competitive between all family members.  Every person draws a number and we walkdown the catwalk with our outfit on to be judged by the independent judge (Dad’s next door neighbour)!  Only this year little did I know that James had planned a secret surprise and underneath his ‘Bad Santa’ outfit he was dressed in a hoodie saying “Will you marry me.”  He had a sack of presents for all members of the family, which I had helped prepare but the final present was a beautiful diamond engagement ring for me.  Such an amazing surprise engagement!

  • The Dress was ……

A Mori Lee dress from Stunning Bridal in Northampton.  I was very open minded when dress shopping and ended up picking something I had never even looked at on the hanger.  It was a beautiful lace dress with a ‘caramel’ underlay, giving it a unique look.   I added on an extra diamante belt as I knew I wanted extra bling!

  • Our budget was spent on ……

Venue

Band

Lincoln the Master of Ceremonies

Flowers

Alcohol and food for the guests

DJ

Suits/Dresses

Make up/Hair

Thank you gifts

  • Planning is the key to a stress free wedding.

Make sure it is as relaxed as possible so everyone can enjoy themselves. I made numerous ‘to do’ lists through the planning process so that the last week up to the wedding was stress free.  We were then able to literally enjoy every moment of our special day.

  • The important things you were looking for in choosing your wedding venue

We wanted a venue where everything was in one place and guests didn’t need to move during the day/evening.  The Atrium was perfect for this and such a beautiful venue with stunning views.  We knew as soon as we saw it, that it was ‘the one.’

  • Wedding specialists we chose to complete the look and our ideas were ……

Florist- Secret Garden

Cake-Hockleys

DJ-Nathan Godby

Band-The OJ’s Soul Band

Lincoln as Master of Ceremonies

  • The Best Part of the Day was ……

Walking down the aisle and seeing James’ face.  He had always told me he wouldn’t turn around to look until I got next to him, so seeing his eyes as I got to the doors was perfect

  • If we could give one tip to other couples it would be ……

Make sure you plan the wedding YOU want.  We had the most perfect day and were so glad we made it everything we wanted from the start. Make sure the venue you choose is within good reach of your invited guests, as you will want as many people to experience the special day with you.
