COVID-19 FAQs

Faq

In response to recent Government guidelines Whittlebury Park is playing its part in helping to stop the spread of COVID-19 by temporarily closing its doors to the majority of our 400 cherished colleagues and our hugely valued guests. We are currently closed until the 31st May, however this date will be reviewed regularly and in line with current Government advice.

We have a small team working remotely so that we are able to contact all of our guests who have bookings with us and we will be working in chronological order of arrival date, so please do bear with us as we will be making contact. For those bookings that are non-refundable/non-transferable and due to arrive on a date where we are now closed, we will be offering a credit onto a Whittlebury Park Gift card/E-voucher that won’t expire until 30th December 2020, or you can rebook your stay on a like-for-like basis for a date in the future as we would love to see you at Whittlebury Park one day very soon.

I’m due to stay in May but no one’s contacted me. What’s happening?
We have a small team working remotely and our reservations team are working hard to ensure that all bookings made for May are contacted in chronological date of arrival. Your booking will be transferred to a gift card so you can use it until the end of December 2020 to book in that well-earned treat for yourself at a later date.
My booking was made by a 3rd party partner/Online Travel Agent and I want to postpone or cancel, what should I do?
Please contact your booking agent for more information on their terms & conditions as they will be best placed to advise you.
What happens if my stay is after the 31st May and I want to now postpone?
We continue to monitor the Government guidelines and will extend our closure if requested, and at that point we will apply the same postponement and rebooking processes as described above.
My giftcard is due to expire before the 31st May. What can I do?
You do not need to do anything for giftcards/vouchers that are due to expire in May 2020 as we will automatically be extending for a further 3 months at no additional cost.
I was told that a Gift E-voucher would be sent to me but I have still not received it, why?
Please do bear with us at these difficult times, we are processing all Gift vouchers as soon as possible, so keep a look out in your inbox and also your junk folder.
I’ve got a Gift card/voucher, but I want a refund
Our Gift cards/vouchers are non-refundable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is available as per the booking terms & conditions
I booked for a group of 10, what happens if one of my party wants a refund?
If booked direct with Whittlebury Park and it was 1 booking and 1 payment then we are unable to partially refund, however if booked and paid separately then we would apply the 1 party members cancellation to a Gift card/E-voucher if the arrival is within the period of closure.
How long should it take to receive my Gift card/E-voucher?
We are processing all e-gift card credits in date order so please bear with us.
I’ve been told to self-isolate for a further 3 months, so my gift card will only be valid for me to use really for 3 months – can it be extended?
If you can provide us with a copy of your self isolation certificate from the 111.NHS.UK website then we will extend your Gift card/E-voucher by 3 months from expiration date if within the period of March – May.
Is the golf course still open?
We are still reviewing the Prime Minister's update on the Government’s easing of lockdown and are waiting for any subsequent advice from England Golf and The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport to give more clarity on how we can open up golf once again at Whittlebury Park in a safe and controlled environment.
Please do bear with us at this time and we will communicate out again very soon via email, our website and our social media channels with our opening date, and to advise when you are able to start booking tee times once again, but it won’t be on Wednesday 18th May at this time.
What’s happening about my Leisure Club membership?
Your membership is now suspended for 2 months, or until the Leisure Club reopens following Government advice. If you pay by direct debit it will not be collected on the 1st May and we will communicate with you if we are collecting payment on 1st June in line with our re-opening. All of our members have been communicated to already regarding this process and additional updates.

If you are a pre-paid member we are working on allocating the additional closure days back onto your membership and we will communicate this with you in good time.
My wedding is booked for June, what should I do?
One of our wedding team colleagues will be in touch with you directly to talk through the options of rearranging for a future date, subject to availability.
Where do I stand postponing my wedding due to the restrictions the Church of England and Northampton registry office have put into place
If you are affected by the restriction put into place, and Whittlebury is still able to host your wedding we are giving you the opportunity to postpone to a later date in 2020. Should this not be an option for you, we suggest that you initially speak with your wedding insurance providers for more guidance.
Should I still make payment if I have a payment due for my corporate event as per terms and conditions?
Yes, and this payment will be used as a credit towards your future event if you need to rearrange due to Government advice extending their closure ban beyond 1st July 2020.
What will happen to my camping booking if the British Grand Prix is cancelled/postponed?
We are fully aware that a statement was made on Monday 27th April by Silverstone Circuit, but our intention, if possible, is to still allow those campers who wish to join us to camp to still do so. We have taken this view based on a large number of positive conversations with our loyal Grand Prix camping guests who have told us that they would still love to join us for the camping experience if they are allowed to, even if they can’t access the race in person and if the Government does ease the appropriate lockdown restrictions.
We are in a fortunate position as we have 700 acres of land to utilise and could easily offer oversized plots that are spread out. Our reduced team is working hard to ensure that those of you who would like to join us are able to do so safely and comfortably and we are busy working on catering solutions so that we are able to apply any restrictions of social distancing that the hotel industry is requested to adhere to. We are hoping that for the British Grand Prix we can welcome those guests who want to come to Whittlebury Park to camp and experience the electric atmosphere that together we have created over the past 30 years. However, we of course fully understand that this would not be for everyone and if that is the case then we will absolutely roll your booking over to 2021.
My event has not cancelled yet, but what happens if they do?
We are closely following all Government guidelines very carefully, but at this moment there is no need to do anything, however should things change we will be contacting you with options. Please do keep an eye on our website & social media channels for regular updates.
If I want to cancel or postpone a booking I’ve made with you but the arrival is after 31st May what are my options?
At present we are working with Government guidelines and therefore our priority is to ensure that all guests who have a booking with us between now and the 31st May 2020 have been contacted and either new bookings made or credit refunds offered.
