Thirty years since the first spade went into the ground to create its now renowned 36-hole championship golf course, Northamptonshire-based Hotel & Spa, Whittlebury Park, has unveiled its plans for a £5m development of four blocks of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments which will be fitted to a 5-star standard within its 600-acre estate. The independent family-owned resort is looking to reach new audiences not only across Northamptonshire and surrounding counties, but also UK-wide and internationally by introducing new accommodation which will enable guests to enjoy week-long stays within the new luxury accommodation suites.
Whittlebury Park is located in the picturesque village of Whittlebury which enjoys easy access to a range of Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire’s most famous heritage sites including Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle, Sulgrave Manor and the Cotswolds, as well as the world-famous Silverstone Circuit, which is just next door. The apartments will be designed with high specification green credentials as well as eco-design features and renewable sources of energy such as solar panels, ground source heat pumps and biomass produced on-site.
Owners of Whittlebury Park, Carol and Jeff Sargeant said; “We are delighted to be launching such an ambitious project, after many years of planning to get to this stage. Our expansion will benefit the local economy by bringing a new wave of tourism into Whittlebury and also Northamptonshire, which is very important to us. We are working closely with our team and Architectural Designer to make the apartments a remarkable place to stay and we are excited to create something new and modern to our established estate.”
The Architectural Designer leading the plans from concept to completion, Clive Monk, said “I have worked with Jeff and Carol Sargeant for over 40 years on all of their projects at Whittlebury Park. The new apartments have been designed with extensive attention to detail and with longevity in mind through the use of materials and their striking appearance which will complement the existing buildings, but also breathe new life into the estate.”
A show apartment will be available to view in autumn 2019 and the apartments will be able to be purchased for week-long vacations from spring 2020 for stay-cations, or to exchange for worldwide luxury vacations at over 400 destinations in more than 100 countries.
