To all of our customers and friends of Whittlebury Park,
I am writing to you with the heaviest of hearts.
We are temporarily closed until 30th April and this will be reviewed regularly as we continually adapt our business in line with Government recommendations.
I remember the first day that we opened to the public when I was just 10 years old, and now, sadly, I will always have the memory of the day that we closed our doors to the public, albeit temporarily.
This is something that I never thought would happen, but something that must happen, as part of a global effort to stop the spread of COVID-19. I cannot stress enough how important it is that we work together for the benefit of everyone. We must all do our bit – particularly to support the incredible NHS staff and all care workers who are true heroes.
My incredible team here at Whittlebury have demonstrated the utmost professionalism during this most unprecedented time. Everyone has pulled together to help preserve, suspend and mothball our business, so that we can rapidly pick up where we left off as soon as it is safe to do so. This was a particularly emotional task for all of us.
Whittlebury is my life. I live and breathe it every day – as do many of you who visit us regularly – but we will come through this together.
This is only a temporary measure, and we will bounce back. My family and the senior management team are reviewing the state of the nation on a regular basis, and we will open our doors again as soon as it is safe and responsible to do so.
I have had to make some impossible and heart wrenching decisions, but all the decisions that I have taken have been to protect all of us – our team, our customers and the wider community.
What matters more than anything is the safety, health and wellbeing of our incredible teams and loyal customers – right now, the greatest contribution you can make to the safety of our business and yourselves is to stay home, stay safe and protect your families because we want to be ready to welcome you here soon once more and in happier times.
With my best wishes
