Event Organisers Showcase Day

On Tuesday 26th February Whittlebury Park opened its doors and hosted its Event Organisers Showcase. The annual showcase event welcomed new and existing clients to Whittlebury giving them the chance to experience what Whittlebury can offer.

Guests were welcomed into Bentley’s Lounge with Bucks Fizz and indulged in a substantial Brunch offering which included Eggs Benedict, crushed Avocado on toast with Chilli oil and Lemon. Guests got to network with other event professionals and industry peers in a relaxed and informal environment, before the room was stormed for the very first activity of the day -The HAKA! Designed to energise delegates before a meeting, the activity took everyone out of the comfort zone in a positive way. All guests who attended gave their all in completing the HAKA and the energy in the room was incredible – a really fun way to start our event organiser showcase day.

After the HAKA was finished, all guests where divided into groups and given some refreshments before being sent on their way to experience the following activities:

  • A venue tour of Whittlebury, including bedrooms
  • Segway Skills Experience
  • Archery Experience
  • Team Challenge of Pyramid

A little ‘refreshment’ break in-between activities was well received where guests dived into homemade brownies and granola bars.

A short walk in the sun to the Pavilion and it was clear from the giant dome outside on the cricket pitch what the teams next activity was – INDOORS CRYSTAL AMAZED. A mixture of 12 challenges that all teams had to complete. All of which designed to test individual skills and team work. A tough challenge for a group of professionals who don’t know each other, however all became incredible competitive at completing the variety of challenges.

By this time, the guests really worked up an appetite and it was time for lunch. A short walk through the pavilion to the Orangery and guests arrived in our lunch venue. The aromas of the food through the corridors was making everyone hungry, and the offering didn’t disappoint. The food provided mirrored the lunch offering that we provide for our delegates when they are on a day delegate package with us, and the feedback on the day was exceptional. All helped by a cold glass of wine on a hot ‘February’ day.

Guests left with a goody bag which included travel mugs, crystal USB’s and homemade cupcakes. Guesta also got to experience the Heat and Ice or golf post the event.

Emma Hayes, Head of Event Sales and organiser of the event said, ‘We couldn’t have picked a better day for the event, the sun was shining and Whittlebury really looked stunning. I personally love hosting open events as it really gives our clients a taste of what we have to offer and for me, seeing the vision becoming a reality and watching the enjoyment on our guests faces during the day whilst they experience what we have planned. This event itself had one of the best attendance we have seen in recent years, with a diverse range of clients attending. Our team delivered the event exceptionally well and I couldn’t be prouder to be part of team Whittlebury’.
