Deputy Back of House & Kitchen Porter

As a deputy back of house & kitchen porter, you will:

• Be responsible for the day-to-day organisation & cleaning of the delivery area & external areas of the hotel. Monitoring & supporting high standards of cleanliness consistently.
• Build, manage and motivate the team of kitchen porters whilst monitoring efficiency and cleaning rotas, reporting to Head chef any areas of concern.
• Accept deliveries ensuring all items are correctly delivered & within date codes, storing them in the appropriate secured locations as instructed. Ensuring the correct procedure is adhered to & records kept in line with the company Food hygiene policy
• Drive change and innovation to achieve continuous improvements in cleanliness and organisation
• Implement the Health and Safety policy & ensure the delivery area is free from obstructions and be aware of unsafe practices, such as dangerous stacking, so that these practices can be superseded by safe procedures.

As the ideal candidate for this position, you will have experience in a similar role and that of managing a team. You will be understanding budgeting and monitoring costs and have an excellent understanding of health and safety procedures. You will work closely to support the kitchen team and consistently deliver high standards in Cleanliness, Hygiene & Safety, delivery acceptance and waste removal.

The hours of work will vary and will include weekends, early mornings/late evenings, and holiday periods.

This list of duties cannot be exhaustive due to the requirements of the hotel industry. Therefore, you may be required from time to time to carry out reasonable tasks as requested by management.
